London – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski called for more “difficult measures” against Russia to push President Vladimir Putin in an agreement to terminate the fire, proposing after another round of drones that Moscow “cannot be interested in less than diplomacy.”
Long-distance cross-border strikes continue through the US-mediated efforts to ensure that fire in Ukraine, intended as a springboard for a wider peaceful deal to end Russia’s 3-year invasion of Russia in its neighbor.
Both Kiev and Moscow have agreed to freeze attacks in the Black Sea and energy infrastructure last week, although they have both accused the other of the break for the energy attack.
On a Sunday evening video, Zelenskyy reported “more strikes and firing” in seven Ukrainian regions. “The geography and brutality of Russian strikes, not only occasionally, but literally every day and night show that Putin cannot be interested in less than diplomacy,” he said.

“There has been a proposal in the United States for several weeks for unconditional cessation,” Zelenski continued. “And almost every day, in response to this proposal, there are Russian drones, bombs, artillery firing and ballistic strikes.”
“Russia deserves increased pressure – all the difficult measures that can violate its ability to wage war and maintain a system that wants nothing but war,” Zelenski said. “Sanctions against Russia are essential. More air protection for Ukraine is essential. More cooperation and unity among all partners is essential.”
President Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at his obvious powerlessness from lack of progress to a peaceful deal in Ukraine, telling NBC News that he was “very angry” to Putin after the Russian leader again criticized Zelenski and called for his removal in favor of a transition government.
Trump added that he would consider applying new sanctions against the exports of lucrative oil to Russia and on all countries buying their oil. China and India are among the most significant customers for Russian petroleum products.
Later, the president told Air Force One reporters that his administration was making significant progress to end war. Asked about his relationship with Putin, Trump replied, “I don’t think he’ll return to his word.”
“I’ve known it a long time ago,” Trump said. “We have always developed well, despite Russia, Russia, Russia fraud.”

The president said he was “disappointed” by Putin’s latest attacks against Zelenski. “He considers it reliable, he has to make a deal with him. Whether you like him or not like him, so I was not satisfied with it.”
Asked if there was a deadline to agree to the cessation of fire, Trump suggested that there was a “psychological period”. He added, “If I think they are tapping us, I will not enjoy it.”
Russia and Ukraine continued cross -border strikes on Sunday night on Monday morning.
The Ukraine Air Force said Russia launched two missiles and 131 drones in the country overnight, which is said that 57 drones were removed and 45 were lost on flight without causing damage. The Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions were affected by the attack, Air Force said in a post in Telegram.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said its forces had removed 66 Ukrainian drones overnight – 41 above the Brayansk region, 24 above the Kaluga region and one above the Kursk region.
