A woman from Auckland North Shore says a person knocked on his door claiming to do a storm damage survey for the advice, but confirmed that his team was not checking out home.
Beach Haven’s resident said in a Facebook post that the “young man” told her two more board people, would follow with questions.
“She had no advice ID and didn’t visit any other home-I checked with the advice and, of course, they don’t have employees doing checks from home at home.
“It seemed more like she’s checking the place. I’ll let the neighbors know to be alert,” said the community page post.
In a comment about the post, Auckland’s advisor North Shore, Richard Hills, said it was “disappointing and worrying.”
“Please, if someone experiences this, ask for an advice ID immediately (what they will not have), ask the person to leave.
“If they do not leave, you can call 111. After they leave, enter the police in 105 with a description of the person,” said Hills.
