Woman arrested after body of baby found in bag in Notting Hill | UK News



A woman was arrested after the discovery of the body of a baby in a bag in Notting Hill, West London.

The newborn was found in a Marks & Spencer -Tas outside a church last Tuesday.

Metropolitan police said a woman, who was aged in her thirties, was safely located and arrested on the suspicion of hiding a birth, neglect and baby murders.

According to police, she was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and to ensure that all necessary medical care is provided to her.

She is currently in hospital.

In a statement, Scotland Yard said: “In a case of this nature, it is necessary to enable officers to continue with their inquiries and understand more about the circumstances surrounding the death of the baby.”

The Met police headquarters added that a post-mortem will take place later this week, “which will help officers understand more about the death of the baby boy”.

It added that officers at this time stayed ‘open -minded about the circumstances’.
