Windsor police say the bodies of the missing woman fleeing Iran have been recovered.
In a social media post Friday afternoon, the unit announced that Shilan Shahbazian’s body had been found.
Investigators do not suspect her death foul.
Shahbazian, 26, was last near Huron Church Road and Riverside Avenue around 7 p.m. on January 4.
She reportedly fled Iran about two years ago and sought asylum in Canada.
“Our idea is with Ms. Shabaz’s family and loved ones, and we demand respect for their privacy during this difficult time,” police wrote.
Police did not share further information about Shahbazian’s death or the circumstances of her body.
