White House reportedly seeking corporate sponsor for annual Easter Egg Roll

The White House is reportedly planning to offer corporate sponsorships for its annual Easter egg role in April, which breaks decades of tradition that holds public offices and private profits separate.

In a nine pages document, acquired by CNN, the White House and Harbinger, a production company in DC, offer sponsorships ranging from $ 75,000 to $ 200,000 with opportunities for brand and marketing for the annual event.

Prospective sponsors also have the chance to make their logos appear on the signage, ‘names for key areas or elements’, baskets tailored, tailored brands, brands or drinks, mentioned in social media posts and press releases and can be offered access to a ‘invitation’ according to CNN.

The Easter egg role, which began in 1878, is usually financed by private donations without taxpayers. Those donations, and from whom they come, are usually not disclosed. The US egg board largely helps to help the White House put on the tradition and donate tens of thousands of eggs.

But this year will seem to be different, as the Trump administration is trying to create new traditions, while the obstacle between the private sector and the government is being dissolved.

The independent asked the White House for comment.

The decision to allow corporate sponsorships for the egg roll follows similar patterns by President Donald Trump – such as promoting Teslas in front of the White House with his senior adviser, and CEO of the EV car maker, Elon Musk.

As president, Trump urged supporters to buy brands with his appearance and recently promoted his meme coin $ Trump.

Many of Trump’s senior administrative members have extensive experience in the private sector or for corporations. Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessett is a billionaire who established a hedge fund company and Howard Lutnick, secretary of trade, was CEO and chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald.

Some people have expressed concern about the ethical implications or possible conflicts of interest that it produces, but the administration is still going forward.

According to CNN, money raised by Harbinger’s efforts is placed in an account run by the non -profit organization, the White House Historical Association.

‘For many chairmanship, the White House Historical Association worked with staff of the White House to facilitate a public meeting such as the annual White House Easter Egg. And as we are also with other gifts at the White House collection, we receive contributions and gifts in Natura that are used on the site, ‘said Stewart McLaurin, the president of the White House Historical Association.
