The second year star of West Coast, Harley Reid, received a fine of $ 1,000 for the AFL for the offensive gesture he made during his team’s defeat against Brisbane.
Reid was a goal for the multitude of Gabba last Sunday and playfully showed his middle finger to the fans of the lions after one of them offered him a pañuelos package.
The 19 -year -old escaped from a fine of the AFL matches review officer, but the League officials intervened and asked the Eagles to explain the actions of the Marquesine midfielder.
Having obtained a greater context around the incident, AFL accused Reid of misconduct on Wednesday.
“After requesting an explanation and reviewing the presentation of Reid, the AFL determined that its actions during Sunday’s game justified a financial sanction,” the League said in a statement.
Reid, the number one draft selection in 2023, has faced many criticism for its actions during the defeats of West Coast to Gold Coast and Brisbane at the beginning of its second season.
He fought in the defeat at the Eagles house against the Suns and, although he was more involved against the Lions, he also gave seven free kicks.
Reid had an altercation with the veteran of Brisbane Dayne Zorko and showed his middle finger to the crowd during the last quarter after an entanglement with Oscar Mcinerney near the limit.
The criticism has come despite the supplications after the coach of the first -year Eagles coach, Andrew Mcqualter.
“There is a little comments on Harley all the time, so last week it was not necessarily different,” Mcqualter said Sunday.
“We try to get the theater out of this game, right?
“It is simply having a little fun and sometimes that is good for the game, I think.”
