Researchers hope to find a way to become a more effective brewer, “while meeting the high demand for beverages, while using less coffee.” They decided to use the pour method, which involves pouring hot water into a paper filter in a coffee filter or a cone. The cone is placed on the container that captures the liquid (coffee) of the filter. “This brewing method uses gravity to push water through rough, loose coffee grounds,” the researchers explained.
