The Vancouver Police Department is taking additional security precautions after receiving intelligence, and there could be a conspiracy to kill an officer in the downtown North.
In an internal email obtained by Global News, it was suggested that officials could threaten, which suggests that a group of young people are considering the plan.
Acting Chief Police Officer Steve Rai sent the email, which said additional security precautions were being taken, including the deployment of other officials.
Sergeant Steve Addison confirmed the threat, adding that additional precautions could include “deployment of our public safety trailer, a large trailer with a pole camera that serves as a deterrent for crime and record activities.”

“As we progress, there may be additional steps,” Addison added.
A Vancouver police officer caught fire last week and recently a VPD officer was cut off his legs.
Vancouver Police Union and BC Police Association are also involved.
“Our members are doing their jobs by bringing people to the court, but the court needs to eventually support our members by detaining people, especially violent criminals,” said SGT, acting president of the Vancouver Police League.
The escalation of violence against officers was launched in February, when other officers were deployed to the area.
Police say robbery, violent crime and serious attacks are declining. Drugs and gun seizures.
“Through the work we’ve been doing, we make it uncomfortable for criminals, predators, people who have been working in this community for too long,” Addison said.
