Palm Harbor, Fla. – Viktor Hovland found a swing at Innisbrook’s tough closing ceremony Sunday, sending the three late birdies assembled 67s under Justin Thomas to a win in the Valspar Championship.

Hovland has changed his coach five more times since he won the 2023 FedEx Cup at East Lake. His seventh victory on the PGA Tour.
Hovland and Thomas were finally separated from the team in the final round, so that nine players had at least a portion at some point.
Hovland started his amazing run when he got a 12-foot birdie putt on Thomas 14. He hit seven irons in the 16th to 5th feet birdie and then hit a 12-foot birdie putt on the lead of 17th on the 3rd.
Thomas took the lead of four birdies in five holes, bogeyed in two of the last three holes and shot 66.
Asian tour
Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz defeated the Under-64 64 early birdie in the Macau in International Series Macau in China and won with a three-shot victory, his second Asian Tour since joining Liv Golf.

Ortiz, Reed and Jason Kokrak and Liv Golf are all top three players and won a seat at the British Open this summer. This will be Ortiz’s first major in two years.

PGA Tour Champion
NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Miguel Angel Jimenez became the first champion of the PGA Tour title this year when he beat Birdie with 18 of 5 shots to a score of 67 and a win in Hoag Classic.

Jimenez, 61, also won the trophy Hassan II in Morocco in February.
This is a wire. Jimenez and Freddie Jacobsen tied for under par, and Stewart Cink just birded the 18th hole ahead of them, making them 65 years old.

Jacobsen missed a good miss on the right and couldn’t beat the birds up and down. Jimenez wasn’t far from the green, leaving him a simple bargaining chip that he executed perfectly. Jacobsen missed his 25-foot birdie putt and shared second with Cink with 67.
The Fred Couples started the final round, tied for Jimenez, who managed only one birdie and finished eighth with 71 hits, four shots behind.
Journey to Europe
Singapore – England’s Richard Mansell won his first European title on Sunday when he beat 100 feet on the 18th hole to 66 under 66 and a win in the Porsche Singapore Classic.

Mansell started his final round of shooting, leading the way with five consecutive birdies in the first nine games. His last bird gave him the title of the Japanese Keita Nakajima who ended at 65.
The game was reduced to 54 holes due to Thursday’s rain.
Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin gave up on the PGA Tour to join Liv Golf this year, where he scored 68 shots and tied for third with France’s Adrien Saddier, who also shot 68 from the field.
