Victorian man charged over alleged death threats and antisemitic comments to federal MP


TO Victorian The man has been accused after allegedly making death threats and anti -Semitic comments to a Federal MP.

The 41 -year -old man supposedly used social networks to threaten the deputy, whom the police did not appoint, from January 7 to February 19.

The arrest arose from the special operation of AFP Avalite, which uses officers and analysts to investigate accusations of promoting violence against groups of groups, Doxxing, illegal exhibition of prohibited symbols and advocating terrorism or genocide.

The AFP assistant commissioner Stephen Nutt said that the operation would continue to tirelessly investigating anti -Semitic behavior, including threats to elected officials.

“Anyone who participates in this type of deplorable behavior can wait for a blow to the door and a quick date with the courts,” Nutt said.

“No one, whether an elected representative or member of the public, should have to endure vile threats and villages based on their race, religion or ethnicity.

“We will not stay and let anti -Semitism spread through the Australian community.”

The 41 -year -old man was accused of a position for the use of a threat transport service and a position to threaten to cause serious damage to a public official of the Commonwealth, who lead to respectively maximum sentences of five and seven years in prison, if he declares himself guilty.

He will face the Court of Magistrates of Dandenong on June 19.
