Ukraine-Russia war live: Putin’s forces launch over 150 deadly glide bombs in huge air attack

A Russian drone strike on the second largest city of Ukraine killed two people and wounded 35 late Saturday, officials said, while President VoloMymyr Zelenskiy asked Kyiv’s partners to respond to such attacks while sought peace in the three-year war.

The strike in the eastern city of Kharkiv, which damaged a military hospital among other structures, came because Ukraine had a strong support from Western allies to push Russia to end its full scale in the smaller neighbor.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov said five children were wounded in the attack, which also damaged a few dozen residential buildings and a dorm for homes.

One survivor, who identified himself as Anton, described to an adjoining room in his apartment when a drone hit him with shrapnel.

“I’ve said goodbye to life,” said the 22-year-old, whose head and left hand were many bandages.

Vladimir Putin’s troops launched more than 150 deadly sliding bombs at Ukraine in a major air strike for the last day, Kyiv’s army said.

At least 153 KAB missiles – winged explosives weighing up to 1,500 kilograms and called the ‘Building Destroyer’ – were dropped on Ukrainian towns and cities on Saturday, according to the general staff of Ukraine.

They were part of a major air strike on nearly 100 air strikes and a rocket attack in regions such as Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia, added this.

The Ukrainian air defense destroyed 65 out of 111 drones launched by Russia during an overnight attack, Kyiv’s Air Force said in a statement on Sunday.

It has been added that another 35 drones were “lost” without harming, typically a reference to electronic bumps, but the damage was reported in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa and Donetsk regions.

Russia and Ukraine agreed to stop attacking ships in the Black Sea after intense negotiations with the US in Saudi Arabia.

It is not the full ceasefire that Donald Trump continues to push Putin’s invasion of Ukraine three years after Vladimir Putin, but the move is considered progress by the White House.

An American delegation held separate conversations with peers from Russia and Ukraine over three days to Tuesday.

But how long the current agreement will last – and even if it officially starts – remain uncertain after Russia has carried out drone strikes overnight on an important Ukrainian port city.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Putin’s troops took the settlement of Panteleimonivka in the East Donongsk region of Ukraine and Scherbaky in the Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukraine did not comment on the claim. It is not independently verified.

Downing Street confirmed that the British and French military planners will visit Ukraine next week to discuss “how the coalition of the willingness’ reassurance will work in practice”.

The official spokesman for the Prime Minister said: “Any peace agreement can only be reached if supported by rights, credible safety insurance that keeps Putin back to return to Ukraine.

‘This is what has been the focus of the coalition of the willing meetings so far, supported by the ongoing military planning meetings that have taken place over the past few weeks, and we continue with the operational phase of our planning.

“British and French military leaders will go to Ukraine next week to discuss the Ukrainian army, how a reassurance power will work in practice.”
