Ukraine-Russia war latest: Trump and Putin to speak this week on ceasefire deal as Moscow sets out Nato demand

French-British blueprint does not provide that a ‘mass’ soldiers are deployed in Ukraine, Macron says

French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed some possible missions that can be undertaken by a military support power for Ukraine that Paris and London work with other countries.

Macron said the French-British blueprint spoke to the French media on Saturday before an online summit offered by the UK.

Two newspapers – La Dépêche du Midi and Le Parisien – reported that the French president spoke of participating countries, each of which deployed several thousand troops in Ukraine in a ‘key points’.

Their missions may include providing training and supporting the Ukrainian defense to demonstrate long -term support for Kyiv, the reports cited that Mr. Macron said.

Le Parisin quoted Macron, saying that Moscow’s agreement was not necessary for such deployment. “Ukraine is sovereign. If he asks that the Allied forces be in his field, it is not up to Russia to accept or not,” he said.

Mr. Macron added that the proposed conditions of countries that are members of the NATO alliance would serve as “a guarantee of security” for Ukraine and that “several European countries, and also non-European, expressed their willingness to join such an effort when confirmed, reports La Dépêche du Midi.

Russia threatens Britain and France over NATO observers in Ukraine: ‘just hot air’

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has repeated the Kremlin position that Moscow is categorically against the deployment of NATO attendants to Ukraine.

Britain and France both said they were willing to send a peacekeeping force to monitor any ceasefire in Ukraine. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanian said his country is also open to requests.

“It doesn’t matter under which label NATO contingents should be deployed in the Ukrainian area: whether it is the European Union, the NATO or in a national capacity,” Mr. Grushko said.

“If they appear there, it means they are deployed in the conflict area with all the consequences for these contingents as parties for the conflict,” he said.

The Russian official said that an deployment of unarmed observers can only be discussed after conflict once a peace agreement has been worked out.

“We can talk about unarmed observers, a civil mission that will monitor the implementation of individual aspects of this agreement or warranty mechanisms,” Grushko said. “Meanwhile, it’s just hot air.”

Russia demands that peace agreement includes the ban on Ukraine that joins NATO

Russia will, in any peace agreement on Ukraine ‘IronClad’, seek guarantees that NATO countries will exclude Kyiv of membership and that Ukraine will remain ‘neutral’, a Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said in remarks published today.

Alexander Grushko, Deputy Foreign Minister, Russia, said any prolonged peace treaty over Ukraine should meet the claims of Moscow in a broad interview with Russian media outlet Izvestia which suggests no reference to the US ceasefire.

“We will demand that IronClad security guarantees become part of this agreement,” Izvestia Mr. Grushko quoted.

“Part of these guarantees must be the neutral status of Ukraine, the refusal of NATO countries to accept it in the alliance,” he said.
