Parts of the UK could be warmer than cities in Greece and Spain this week, as the country is still bathing in the spring sunshine.
Dry, sunny conditions can see the temperature rising to 21c (70c) in southern England on Thursday, while Athens will peak at 17c (63F), the Met Office said.
On the same day, South Wallis and Somerset could reach 20c (68F) and can be warmer than Barcelona, where 16c (61f) is the expected high.

North West and Northwestern -Close had some rain and cloud on Monday morning, but the weather is expected to stay dry and sunny all over the country during the rest of the week and the weekend.
Office spokeswoman Stephen Dixon said many in the UK have a fine, dry and sunny day “with temperatures that were” good average for the time of year and that the theme will continue a large part of the week.
He predicted an ‘established period’ for the UK’s weather, and he said it would be ‘as high as 21c’ on Thursday.
Mr. Dixon said the high pressure will be near or over the UK in the coming week and over the weekend, leading to hot and dry conditions.

“Through the middle of the week it will be a touch in the Southwest, but it will still feel much warmer than the average.”
Although the temperature is likely to fall gradually on Saturday, they will still swing around the middle of the teens and will probably be higher than the average maximum temperature of 12c (54F) for the UK in April, predictors said.
The record height of April was a summer 29.4c (84F), recorded in 1949 at Camden Square, London, the Office Records showed.
Many are on their way to the beach to make the most of the unauthorized sunshine.

She said the lights were “perfect timing” with Mother’s Day Sunday and added that she was “really excited and very positive (about the prediction)”.
The dry game should last over the weekend and early next week, although there is less certainty when it predicts much further in April, the Met Office said.
Friday said the office this week could see that the highest temperature of the year so far.
