According to the forecasts, the temperature of more than 20c (68F) will return to the UK at the end of this week.
Hot and dry weather is expected to continue in most areas by the coming days before the average heat on Friday and Saturday – which will be ‘close’ to the temperature record of the year.
Last Friday, the hottest day of the year became so far when 23.7c (74.66f) was recorded in Otterbourne, Hampshire.
Early predictions of the Met Office predict that southern parts of the UK can see temperature of about 21c (69.8f) on Friday and Saturday.
The temperature is expected to hang between 14c (57.2F) and 19C (66.2F) across the country during the middle part of the week.

However, the long -distance forecast of the agency indicates that the warm period will be followed by a “gradual change to a more restless weather regime”.
It can bring a ‘wetter period’ through April with rain showers and rain that could possibly become ‘heavy and thunder.’

Sky News Meteorologist Christopher England said that Hampshire, despite the ‘cool wind’ and icy nights, has enjoyed 2025 record heat so far last week – and the incoming warmth will be close to the circumstances.
“The top temperatures have since fallen a bit, although they are still above average away from exposed eastern coasts, but it looks like they will rise over the weekend, by 20-21c in places,” says Dr England.
‘Territories east of the northern hills look like the highest temperatures Thursday, with 20c possible in both Aberdeen and Newcastle, while the south will climb the temperature on Friday and Saturday.
“A temperature of 20c is probably very wide there, with 21c in parts of the South East.
“It is unlikely that the temperature record of this year will be broken, but it may come close in places. The temperature looks again on Sunday.”
