Two people died in serious accidents in Canterbury.
Emergency services were called for a collision at State Highway 1 in Leithfield, North Canterbury, around 5:15 pm today.
In a statement, police later confirmed that a person was killed in the single vehicle accident near the intersection with Mays RD.
Previously, one person died after an accident involving two vehicles in the SH7 near Culverden, police said.
Emergency services attended the scenario in Culverden RD, around 3:10 pm.
Another person suffered moderate injuries.
