A strong 7.1 earthquake hit Tonga, causing a tsunami warning for the Pacific country.
According to the American geological survey, the Temblor was hit about 100 kilometers northeast of the main island in the early hours of Monday.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning stating that dangerous waves could be within 300 kilometers of the epicenter within 300 kilometers (185 miles) of the epicenter. No reports on damage were available immediately.
