The White House commercial advisor, Peter Navarro, has ruled out the insults of Elon Musk, saying “Elon and I are great” after a public dispute over the global tariffs of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and Close Trump Ally, earlier this month he called Navarro a “jerk” after the commercial advisor dismissed Musk’s impulse for “zero tariffs” between the United States and European countries.
Navarro had called Musk a “car assembler” that depended on imported car parts.
When asked about the tension in the NBC encounter, Navarro said: “It is not a problem.”
“Although it called you ‘idiot’ and ‘darker than a sack of bricks’?” NBC’s anchor pressed.
“They have called me worse,” Navarro replied.
“Everything is fine with Elon. And Mira, Elon is doing a very good job with his team with waste, fraud and abuse,” he said.
“That is a tremendous contribution to the United States and no man who does that kind of thing should be subject to his cars being bombarded by crazy people,” referring to vandalism against Tesla infrastructure and offices in response to Musk’s political activism.
Trump appointed Musk, the richest person in the world, to reduce the expenditure of the United States government and reduce the size of the Federal Labor.
There has been a growing restlessness throughout the country over the forceful approach of Musk for the massive dismissals of the government’s workforce.
Almost 200,000 employees have been fired, allocated to their completion or have accepted purchases.
White House spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, minimized this week the public clash as a difference of opinion on tariffs, saying that “children will be children.”
