President Donald Trump’s administration directs immigration agents to track unaccompanied migrants in the United States, a source familiar with the ABC News plans said.
An internal document from immigration and customs and implementation (ICE) heads “the joint initiative of alien children of alien children,” said the initiative to prevent children from being trafficking in people or other types of exploitation.
There are more than 600,000 children of migrants who have crossed the US -Mexico border without a legal guardian or parent since 2019, according to government data.
According to a well -known initiative, it claims that it is guaranteed that children migrants are not victims of trafficking in human beings or victims of other forms of operation. The plan, which sets four phases of implementation, stated that minors would be served a notice to appear in the immigration court or to be deported – if the deportation provisions are pending against them.
ICE collects data on unaccompanied minors and arranged them in three groups: “Risk of Flight”, “Public Safety” and “Border Security”. The agents were told to prioritize minors “risk of flight”, including those who had received a deportation orders for missing court hearings, said the source of the internal document.

The transition from the Trump administration comes after the Republicans claimed last year that the Biden administration “had lost 300,000” children migrants – figure experts and defenders say there is no context.
The allegations came from an internal DHS monitoring report last year, which found that ICE had not served notifications to look more than 291,000 children without migrants. The internal guard has warned that in the last five years, more than 32,000 unaccounted children have failed to appear for their hearing at the Immigration Court, and ICE “is unable to take into account” all their places.
“The unique needs of children require the administration to provide a level of care that takes into account their vulnerability while it determines whether they need long -term protection in the United States,” said Wendy Young, the president of children in need of defense in a statement to Abc News S
