Conservative Trevor Jones, a conservative, re-election in Chatham-Kent-Leamington, part of the Conservative wave, won third place in Thursday’s Ontario election.
After Jones quickly led by thousands of votes, Jones was declared the winner, and these polls were hardly closed. He ended with 22,250 votes or 52% of the votes, up from the 17,522 votes he surveyed in 2022.

“It’s an absolute privilege. I’m humble,” Jones said. “It’s an urgent timetable. We work hard every day in the cold.
“Hard work pays off,” he added. “In every corner of our ride, we are with thousands of people (and) hearing their concerns.”

Jones faced mostly unknown candidates from outside the riding, including Liberal Bill Kirby (7,856 votes, 18.4 per cent), New Democrat Christian Sachs (7,333, 17.1 per cent), the Green Party’s Matthew Davey (1,241, 2.9 per cent) and Ontario Party candidate Phillip St-Laurent (704, 1.6 per cent).
The only challenger to the 2022 election is Chatham-Kent MP’s new Blue Party candidate Rhonda Jubenville. She finished fourth with 3,387 votes, or 7.9%.
“Obviously, we’re disappointed with not winning, but it’s always hard to let an incumbent down,” Kirby said.
Saxophone is optimistic, but is also a “realist.”
“The reality is that it’s a conservative ride,” she added.
The Conservatives are running vigorously to defend U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threat, which Jones said is a major issue for local voters.

“There is a real fear of work. And people’s children’s work,” he said. “Like, ‘What will happen to our economy?’ Transparent
Jones said agribusiness and the automotive industry are especially risky in cycling.
One person told him that if the tariffs were passed, 500 of his company’s employees would be unemployed within 30 days. Jones said it rose to 900 employees in 90 days.
“That impressed me,” Jones said. “It sinks your heart. And keeps motivated.”
