New York representative Alexandria Okasio-Cortes called the decision of the Senate leader in Senate Chuck Sumer to vote for the Chamber’s GOP bill to prevent the government from suspending a “huge mistake”.
She also avoids saying whether the first Sumer will be the next cycle, although this is something that some Democrats call for her to do so.
Ocasio-Cortez said it was concentrating on preventing Democrats from supporting the funding bill during CNN on Thursday.
“The power of our leadership at this point will demonstrate the power of our Coach,” she told Jake Tapper.

Her comments came that evening, in which Sumer said she plans to vote to keep the government open, signaling that there will almost certainly be enough democratic votes to improve the Chamber’s GOP financing bill before the end of the day on Friday. A minority leader’s announcement is a major interruption by the Democrats of the Chamber, who voted almost unanimously against the GOP financing bill earlier this week.
Ocasio-Cortez said the adoption of the funding bill would “empower” President Donald Trump and his senior councilor Elon Musk.
“I cannot call enough of how bad an idea it is to enable Donald Trump and Elon Musk at this point. It’s dangerous and reckless,” she said.
However, Sumer claims that the decision to close the government will give Trump and Musk too much power to continue the reduction of its federal workers without discretion.
Ocasio-Cortez said she still had time to block the bill and that she hoped that “people are considering” yes “for clotting and the bill will” review “their support.
The Congressman repeated her calls to social media, encouraging voters to call the Senate Democrats and to summon their vote on Clouture and the GOP funding bill.
“The Senate Democrats should not allow this chaos to continue,” she wrote at X.
CNN reported on Thursday that Ocasio-Cortez was summoned by colleagues from the Democratic House of retreat to challenge Sumer-Dori by some members of the Centralities-after the announcement of his decision on the funding bill. She did not say if she would consider taking Sumer in a primary one.

On Thursday of the retreat, the Democrats of the Chamber in the ideological spectrum maintained their opposition to the republican -approved resolution and kept the warmth of their Senate colleagues to do the same. But the house will have to return to a session in order to pass the 30-day stopping account they maintain. Ocasio-Cortez has rejected the idea that calling the house members will be a problem.
“Domestic Democrats are in the city. I want to say, are we afraid to work? Is this a problem here? That the idea that, God forbid, the members of the congress has to fly back and do their job?
Ocasio-Cortez praised the leader of minorities in the Hakem Jeffrris house for breaking the votes against the Chamber bill.
