Drivers are advised to expect delays after an accident of four vehicles in Dome Valley in Waitematā.
A police door said the accident on the state highway 1 was reported at 3:45 pm on Tuesday.
They said the first nominations suggested that a person was injured and would be transported to the hospital.
St. John said he was notified of a motor vehicle incident at Waiwhiu Repacial Peak Road, on the state highway 1, near the Dome forest at 3:09 pm.
A patient, in a smaller to moderate condition, was evaluated and treated on site.
The accident was causing congestion and traffic to the south and north would be impacted, police said.
