Toronto-area man found guilty of assault for spitting on Jewish couple

On October 7, spitting a group of Jewish compatriots left the local synagogue and were found guilty of assault during an anti-Semitic attack in Vaughan, Ontario.

When they came home, Kenneth Gobin rode his bike. According to the ruling of Ontario Court Judge Michael Alexander Townsend, he rode the roadside on the roadside and almost beat the roadside.

A man in the group yelled as he drove irregularly on the sidewalk. Gobin rode, but then came back and shouted, “Hitler should have killed all of you,” “You should have died in the Holocaust!” Then, according to court documents obtained by the State Post, he spat a few feet within a few feet of the Tilda roll, spitting on her.

Another witness told police that Gobin “raised his arm to a 45-degree angle” referring to the Nazi tribute. The widespread stroke of the incident was confirmed by other witnesses.

Gobin was convicted of two counts of assault for spitting on the couple.

He will be sentenced on May 8, on the same date as Toronto store owner Waisuddin Akbari, who was arrested Tuesday according to Global News for telling someone he was planning a suicide mission three months after the Roll incident. He was convicted in November 2024, threatening death and property damage that threatened the damage to the synagogue and “threatening the death of Jews.”

Roll told The Post that her experience as a civil attorney highlighted the “element of self-consultant because a lot of things happen in the corridor,” she recalls insisting that the case was on trial so that she could testify.

Gobin, who was on probation at the time of the attack, testified that he was riding an e-bike and trying to avoid the group by driving on the grass when Roll’s husband blocked his roads and called him “dirty Paki.” The judge said in his ruling that Malcolm used the term to “strongly deny it.”

Gobin said he never spit. However, during cross-examination, Gobin contradicted himself at this point. He also contradicts himself when he claims he does not know that the organization is Jewish.

“I am ready to discover in reasonable doubt that Mr. Gobin’s effect on ‘Hitler should have killed all of you,’Hitler is right,’Hitler should have brought you out, or that’s some change.”

“I’m also ready to discover that Mr. Gobin is often ‘salute’ related to the Nazi movement, and things like ‘Hair Hitler’. All of these words are crucial to the intentional attacks of Mr. Roll and Ms. Roll.”

Roll, who believes the attack was a hate crime, told The Post that her upcoming victim impact statement included a “mandatory Holocaust education program” imposed by a judge as part of Gobin’s early May verdict.

“He’s also an ignorant person, right?” Rous said. “Maybe it was malicious, but part of me thinks, because he didn’t have the compulsory education for the Holocaust when he was in school and he really didn’t know.

Akbari, an Afghan immigrant who spent his early years in Pakistan, arrived in 2007 and brought his car to an Aurora dealership last year for oil change and noticed that the salesman’s last name was Pakistani last name. Akbari believes the man might share his views, telling colleagues that his idea is that Jews control global markets and that Palestinians are suffering from “retaliation against the Israeli state and Jews.”

“He (Akbarri) said Israel is trying to turn the world into a slave and poison the world. He expressed his belief that Israel is not a real country or country,” the judge said in November. “He continues to equate Israel and Jews with cockroaches or insects, which should be extinct and cancer that needs to be eliminated.”

Before leaving, Akbari introduced his plan to “bomb in every synagogue in Toronto and blow them up to kill as many Jews as possible.” The next day, sales staff reported the incident to York area police.
