A Soggy Easter?

The weather has so far been mostly established by spring, but as we approach the halfway point of the season, things have now changed.

The past 24 hours have brought more than 30 mm of rain to the southwest, while parts of the South East saw 20 mm.

It was probably welcome rain for farmers and gardeners.

Heavy rains will continue to affect West Wales and southwest of England on Tuesday night, where 24-hour total to 75 mm can be.

Most other places will be dry, but East Wales and Central England will move slowly, perhaps thunderstorms.

Parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland will get wet overnight, with 20-30 mm of rain possible, locally up to 60 mm on the hills.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued, with a risk of travel disruption and localized flooding.

Central and northern parts will see rain on Wednesday, locally heavy, with rain showers that are more likely on Thursday.

Good Friday will come in wind and rain from the southwest.

There is some uncertainty in the prediction for the rest of the Easter weekend, but the overall low pressure seems in control, bringing showers or longer rain images.

Western parts are likely to see the wettest and windy conditions.

The daytime temperatures will also be disappointing under the rain, but it should not feel too bad in any sunshine.

The restless conditions are likely to continue next week for those who are still on their Easter breach, but there are signs that high pressure can return for the beginning of May!

The weather is not much better in Southern Europe, with Storm Hans, named by the Italian with service, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas to parts of the Mediterranean over the next few days.

Northern Italy could see 200 mm of rain, with amber and red weather warnings in their place.
