Protesters and counter-protectors were gathered outside James Hay Theater, where Peters was talking, raising issues ranging from races from Galgo to the war in Gaza.
During the nearby speech, there were seven interruptions on about 10 hecklers who criticized New Zealand’s first leader.
“Winston Peters, what you did about genocide in Gaza,” said one.
To which Peters replied, “We knew they could barely wait. Go home. This is the kind of fascist they are.”
“Take this man a valium.
“You are not disturbing us here. We will not be postponed by you.”
The disorders were received with applause and mocking a crowd that seemed widely favorable to Peters’s messages.
‘War Woke’
During the speech, Peters greeted New Zealand first as “a true nationalist party.”
“Let’s declare a war against waking up.
“Make New Zealand first again,” he said.
“One of the most worrying and insidious cancers of our society today is the underlying fluency of agreed social engineering,” said Peters.
“This infiltration of the Left Group and supports many to the right is mainly hidden from society the way in New Zealand.”
Peters also talked about reevaluating New Zealand’s commitments to Paris’s climate agreement.
“Why are we making a rod to our own backs, punishing our farmers and taxpayers and our economy, when could China or the US sneeze and produce more coa overnight than in a year?”
“We together we will resume control, resume our country and first make New Zealand,” Peter’s said at the conclusion of the speech.
During a media stand-up, after Peter’s speech in the protesters again.
“They just wanted to waste people’s time.
“This is fascism,” he said.
He also said that New Zealand first would not work with Hipkins or the Labor Party in its present state.
“We are not wasting our time with the current pack of … Losers.”
Hipkins responds
In response to Peters’s speech, Hipkins said, “While Winston Peters shouted with protesters and channeled Donald Trump, work is focused on what really matters: jobs, health and houses. This coalition has led the economy to a recession and now they are trying to distract the damage that caused even more division.”
The speech came shortly after the minister of the arrival of the Foreign Affairs of Washington DC, where he met with us, Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State.
Peters was closed about the details of the meetings in which he participated, insisting that he will inform his cabinet colleagues before speaking publicly about the issues.
