The Bank of the Reserve said today that Banknotes will celebrate the indigenous communities of Australia and the issue has been announced as “Connection of the country.”
“The images in the $ 5 ticket should recognize the lasting connection that the towns of the first nations have for country, as an emotional and spiritual connection, as well as a physics,” said the RBA.
“The key to this issue is the recognition of the contribution of the communities of the first nations to the restoration and conservation of our environment.
“The use of traditional ecological knowledge of the peoples of the first nations continues to act as custodians to maintain and conserve the country.
“There is an opportunity for all Australians to learn from the original Australia butlers on how to nourish and protect our fragile world.”
The issue was chosen after the public made more than 2100 presentations.
The final art has not been confirmed and the RBA said that “avoid being tokenistic or stereotyped.”
The chosen theme will guide the artists while creating a new design for the new Australian tickets of $ 5.
“The tone for the ticket is a hopeful future, where the connection of the peoples of the first nation with the country is celebrated and respects,” the RBA continued.

The other side of the note will continue to show the house of Parliament in Canberra even after the redesign.
The late Queen Elizabeth appeared on the lowest Australian ticket between 1966 and 1984, when it was the $ 1 note, and from 1992 to the present in the $ 5 note.
The RBA announced in 2023 that it will replace the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side of the note with a “design that honors the culture and history of the first Australians” after the death of the monarch in 2022.
The new ticket is expected to take several years to be designed and printed.
Australia’s $ 5 ticket in its current form began to circulate in 2016.
