The teenager faces more accusations about Richmond Park’s attack

A 16 -year -old boy Christchurch, accused of assaulting a woman in a Richmond park in February, was accused of serious violent sexual offenses.

The victim was found seriously injured at Richmond Village Green at Stanmore RD on February 5 and the teenager was arrested and initially accused on February 28.

On Friday, police presented more accusations against him, related to serious violent sexual offenses.

He appeared at Christchurch Youth Court and was arrested in custody.

The accused boy was scheduled to reappear at the Christchurch Youth Court in early April.

“The victim is slowly recovering from a significant head injury and is still receiving treatment as part of his long way to recovery,” said detective senior sergeant Karen Simmons.

“We continue to provide it and update it on the developments in this case.

“We would like to thank the public members who presented information and allowed us to reach this point.”
