These signs are the first of many to be erected by the Clutha Upper Historical Records Society in historical places and quickly follow shortly after a January release on the company’s new website, Wanakahistory.org, new social media accounts and the company’s new logo.
Project manager Catherine Hart said in a statement that the goal was to bring life to the stories and the rich history of the superior clutha region to the local community, visitors and tourists.
Cornerstone strategies for renewed society are:
- Leverage the 40 years of voluntary activities capturing and researching historical records for the Clutha Upper district;
- Continue building your vast database of paper records, documents, images, stories and files of oral history;
- engage with young people, creating valuable educational resources;
- To launch Wanaka History, a new community -oriented digital media platform.
The creative local creative design agency was hired for all aspects of creative design of the program, including the new site.
Financing support was received from Central Lakes Trust, Otago Community Trust and the Queenstown Lakes District Council.
Hart said new members and volunteers were invited to participate and participate in the new site.
People can also sign up for the regular newsletter of society, these were the days, through the Wanaka History site.
