One person died and another is in a critical condition after an accident near Christchurs.
Police confirmed that two people were involved in a single vehicle accident near Little River this morning.
Emergency services were called for Christchury Akaroa RD around 10:40 am.
Police said two people were transported to the hospital in serious condition, where they died shortly after. The other remained in the hospital in critical condition.
The serious accident unit conducted a scene exam and an accident investigation began, police added.
