More than 1000 houses are out of energy in the suburbs of Wellington from Churton Park, Johnsonville, Ngaura and Glenside.
Wellington’s electricity says the interruption is not planned, but expects to restore energy around 3 am.
The fire and emergency said a transformer was on fire, but since then it had been launched.
