The Coalition revealed its vision ahead of the election. Here’s what was in the budget reply

Peter Dutton has promised to reduce energy invoices through a national gas plan, cut migration and cut thousands of federal public servants as part of their electoral discourse for voters.
In his fourth speech to the budget, the opposition leader has pledged to accelerate new gas projects, increase the cancellation of instant assets of small businesses to $ 30,000 and reduce migration by 25 percent if chosen.

“It is a moment of sliding doors for our nation,” Dutton said during his speech, adding: “This choice is both leadership and politics.”

These are some of the key elements of Dutton’s tone to Australian voters.

Present a national gas plan to reduce invoices

A Dutton government would immediately present a national gas plan to prioritize the National Gas Supply and reduce energy invoices.
The plan includes tracking new gas projects, reducing approval times and the launch of a gas reserve plan, under which a certain amount of gas produced for the domestic market would be reserved.

Dutton said that “it would ensure an additional 10 percent to 20 percent of the demand of the east coast” and “would reduce the new wholesale prices of gasoline from more than $ 14 per gigajoule to less than 10 per gigajoule.”

The policy could be lost for the industry, changing the gas for export at a higher price.

Western Australia has had a similar policy since 2006.

Cheaper fuel

With a clear approach in the hip pocket, the coalition also revealed that it will reduce the fuel tax from approximately 50 cents to 25 cents per liter on its first day of session.

Dutton said that the Competition and Consumer Commission of Australia “would ensure that the special fuel tax cut is transmitted in its entirety to consumers.”

Cut migration

Dutton has confirmed that the coalition will reduce the permanent migration program by 25 percent if it is chosen on May 3.
According to the plan, the levels currently established in 185,000 will be reduced by an estimated 46,000 places.

“The work does not have control of migration, nor has it maintained migration to sustainable levels,” said Dutton.

He added that the Plan will release homes and “restore the great Australian dream of housing owned.”

While the commitment was made in the budget response of last year, it required clarity after the opposition treasure spokesman, Angus Taylor, seemed to go back the policy of the Sunday expert program.

Increases to the cancellation of instant assets for small businesses

The Albanese government extended a cancellation of instant assets of $ 20,000 for small businesses, approving the legislation on Wednesday night.
In his budget response, Dutton has appealed to business owners by committing to increase cancellation to $ 30,000.

It adds to a previous promise to provide deductions of up to $ 20,000 per year for business -related food expenses.

Cortes to public servants

Dutton has accused Albanese’s government for the “ineffective and wasteful spending.”
He says that cutting 41,000 public servants hired under labor will save the budget more than $ 10 billion on progress estimates.

Following the concerns that politics could affect essential services, including veteran affairs, he said: “We will not reduce the roles of provision of first -line services.”

Invest in mental health and cheaper medications

An impulse of $ 8.5 billion to Medicare is the centerpiece of the Labor Electoral Campaign.
The coalition will coincide with the commitment, announcing an investment of $ 9 billion in health.
This includes the delivery of Laborists limiting most recipes to $ 25.
Dutton has committed to additional $ 400 million for youth mental health.
“We will promote regional services and expand the treatment to place Australia at the forefront of the youth mental health treatment in the world,” he said.
