Tesla protests planned across Canada as part of international ‘day of action’

Today, hundreds of protests are expected in Tesla showrooms around the world, including multiple protests organized in Canadian provinces.

These events are known as Tesla’s Global Day of Action.

Protests are expected in Canadian cities, including Ottawa, Montreal, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Halifax, as well as four in the Lower Continent scheduled for the weekend in British Columbia.

Demonstrators say they want people to sell their Teslas and discard any stock in the company.

Musk is in charge of the U.S. government’s efficiency department and is linked to controversy, including publicly expressing support for the far-right alternative to German parties and laying off thousands of federal workers.

Vancouver police said they will deploy more than 130 police officers to maintain the protests.

The department said officials are investigating 28 anti-Tesla incidents since Trump opened on Jan. 20, including “hateful words and symbols sprayed on buildings, throwing eggs on cars, throwing eggs on cars and smashing windshields in dealerships” and charging stations.

Earlier this month, organizers of the Vancouver International Auto Show banned Tesla from worrying about the safety of workers, attendees and exhibitors.
