A pair of teenagers was arrested after an aggravated robbery in a dairy where a store worker was beaten last night in Auckland.
Police were called to the scene in East Tamaki’s Tamaki milk in ōtara, right after 9:30 pm on Sunday.
A group of six broke into the store stealing cigarettes and Vape products, minimally assaulting a worker in the process.
They fled the scene in the vehicle where they arrived, which was found by police on the Rongomai road.
Detective Dave Paea’s senior sergeant said a front line unit appeared in the vehicle while patrolling.
“The police sent one of our units of dogs that tracked a nearby address, which was isolated, and the occupants appealed to leave.”
Police arrested a 13 and 14 -year -old boy who should appear before the Youth Court Manukau accused of an aggravated robbery.
“We are following positive research lines in identifying excellent offenders and our questions will continue,” said Paea.
“Our investigation teams continue to work diligently responsible for offenders, particularly those who offend companies.”
