A teenage girl intends to face murder trial when a homeless Toronto man dies, pleads guilty to charges of less assault.
The girl is one of two girls who died next month from Kenneth Lee, a 59-year-old man who died in December 2022 after a group of teenagers attacked.
The trial is expected to continue while she is accused of second-degree murder.
Hours after Lee’s death, eight girls were arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Five previously pleaded guilty to fewer charges, four of whom had committed manslaughter, and one of them had attacked caused personal injury and attacked with weapons.
The verdict is expected to be a sixth girl who is only tried by a judge at the end of May. The trial ended on Thursday.
The girl who pleaded guilty on Friday will be sentenced later.
