Surrey police make arrest after fire breaks out at City Centre strip mall – BC


One person was arrested after a night fire in Surrey.

Two Surrey police officers patrolled the neighbors downtown when they noticed the scent of smoke, the burning smell of the southwest corner or the strip mall at 108 Ave and City Parkway.

Police said when officers stopped to investigate, they found a man leaving the business and arrested him.

No one was injured in the fire, but investigators are on-site to evaluate the damage and determine the cause.

Police said the suspect was still in custody as the investigation continued.
