The identity of the man accused of stealing critical medical supplies of a rescue helicopter will remain secret for now.
The Queenstown Rescue helicopter was robbed at Airfield Taieri in January after taking a serious patient to Dunedin Hospital early Sunday, January 12.
The 31 -year -old was arrested three days later.
He appeared before Judge David Robinson via video link in Dunedin’s district court today, facing three charges of theft, two accusations of illegally taking a motor vehicle and an accusation of resisting the police.
Court documents in their last appearance showed that the man was charged with theft in the courtyard of Taieri airport, cash converters, Dunedin 7, out of jail, 2 degrees and another Dunedin address between January 1 and January 12.
He was accused of stealing items worth $ 809 from Rebel Sports Dunedin, taking a van Queenstown Cleaners LTD and taking a painting van and decorator two days later.
The man was also accused of taking a cleaning van on the eve of the New Year.
He was accused of resisting the police and not providing identification details on the day of his arrest.
He chose to represent himself after making a sovereign citizen speech during a previous appearance.
He received continuous suppression of intermediate names and arrested custody until his next appearance in court later this month.
