A man who chased a judge of the right Shirley Ballas for six years avoided jail.
Kyle Shaw, 37, received a suspended sentence of 20 months and a lifelong restriction order with contact with ballas, her mother, cousin and former partner.
Liverpool Crown Court has heard that he thinks ballast is his aunt and “a persistent contact campaign starts”.
“He believed, and it appears from what his mother told him that her deceased brother was his father,” Prosecutor Nicola Daley said.
The court heard that there was no evidence that he was wrong, and “limited evidence” that he was correct.
Ms Daley said Shaw’s messages accused ballast of blame for the death of her brother, who took his own life in 2003.
He also set up social media accounts in his name.
Shaw had pleaded guilty to chase the former dancer between August 2017 and November 2023 during a trial in February.
Incidents were, among others, the 86-year-old Ballas mother, Audrey Rich, while shopping and telling her that she was his grandmother.
The court heard in messages to Mrs Rich, Shaw asked, ‘Where’s my father?’
Ballas were so worried about her mother’s safety that she moved her from Merseyside to London.

In October 2020, Ballas called the police after Shaw sent her and said, “Do you want me to kill myself, Shirley?”
Posts on X contain one along with an image of her home address that warned: “You ruined my life, I will ruin yours and everyone around you.”
Another refers to a book signing and says, “I can’t wait to meet you Aunt Shirley for the first time. Hopefully I can get a signature.”
The court said ballas’ niece Mary Assall, former partner Daniel Taylor and colleagues of Strictly come dancing And the loose women of ITV also sent messages.
“I know where you live”
On one occasion in late 2023, Shaw Mr. Taylor called and told him that he knew where the couple live and describe ballast movements.
The court heard that the 64-year-old TV star was careful about socializing and stopping using public transport.
Prosecutor Ms Daley said: “She described that she was worried about herself and her family’s safety and was particularly distressed when the proposals were made to her that she and her mother were responsible for her brother taking his own life.”

Shaw cried and wiped tears when he was sentenced on Tuesday.
The judge said the pursuit stems from his mother and told him the brother of Ballas, David Rich, was his biological father.
“I am satisfied that your motive for this offense was a desire to seek contact with people you really believed is your family,” he said.
“Whether there is in fact any truth in faith is difficult, if not impossible, to determine.”

Defense Attorney John Weate said Shaw was told by his mother the story “in his mid -teens to late teens” and has suffered a child “complicated mental health issues” since he “.
He added: “He now accepts that Miss Ballas and her family do not want to contact him, and that he voluntarily voluntarily that he does not intend to contact them again.”
Shaw, from Whetstone Lane in Birkenhead, also admitted to owning Cannabis and was ordered to undertake a rehabilitation program.
