Snowfit Had a mediocre opening day at the US box office amid the constant controversy surrounding the film, while Robert de Niro’s mob drama The Alto Knights had completely tank.
The Disney Live-Action brake, which Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot play, took $ 16 million during Friday and a preview of 4200 venues in the US.
Variety Reports that this figure is putting the film on track to land a projected opening weekend north of $ 45 million.
Snowfit Have a steep climb ahead – it carries a production cost of over $ 250 million, which means it must have a successful theater run to achieve profitability.
For comparison, 2023’s The little mermaidwhich had a similar budget of $ 240 million, earned $ 95 million the first weekend, more than double what Snowfit is projected to make.

Zegler, who is of Colombian descent, faced a setback of right -wing voices who were unhappy about the character depicted by a person of color.
