The shocking images have shown adults shouting and swearing a group of children who were fishing in West Lakes in western Adela.
In the images, an adult is seen throwing a child’s backpack on the ground.
The adults said that their problem was not with fishing itself, but with the potential damage to the natural habitat of ducks and turtles.
A man involved later apologized for his actions.
“At that level I apologize,” Stephan said.
“I did not mean any damage, because I am not a person in violence, but my behavior obviously shows a different aspect.”
Recfish SA has condemned adult behavior.
“We absolutely did not approve that kind of behavior for children fish in their own neighborhood,” said Asher Dezsöery, representative of the organization.
Recfish SA has offered to buy children new fishing equipment.
The city of Charles Sturt, which manages the lake, is currently reviewing its statutes around the fishing.
Police responded to the incident on Saturday and moved to both groups. The investigation is ongoing.
