The biggest mistake the Democrats made is “not centering enough people,” said Senator Corey Booker, DN.J., said on Sunday.
“Many people voted for Donald Trump because they trusted him and did not trust that the Democrats could export them,” Booker told ABC presenter George Stefanopoulos. “We are in a condition that has to be owned again by the Democratic Party. We have partly laid this time for this demagogue to get into office, and so the way we handle, the way we correct from these mistakes is to focus on politics, focusing on people.”
25 -hour and 4 -minute speech of Booker Marathon, which ended on Tuesday night, broke the record for the longest speech on the Senate floor. Booker protested against the national “crisis” he said that President Donald Trump and adviser Elon Musk created. He exceeded the record set by Senator Strom Thurmond, who in 1957.
During the speech, Booker said that the Democrats had to do better.
“I admit that I was imperfect. I admit that I am inadequate so far,” Booker said on Tuesday. “I admit that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave this demagogue. I admit that we all have to look in the mirror and say” we will do better. “
Booker told Stefanopoulos that the action he was trying to inspire with his speech should not be confused with guerrilla policy.
“This is not about the Democratic Party, I’m sorry,” Booker said. “The Democratic Party is the most famous when it is concerned about the party. It is the strongest when it is concerned about people when it is more large and wider than any narrow, political analysis. This is the moment that Americans are activated.”
Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered in more than 1,200 cities across the country on Saturday to speak against the abbreviations of the Trump administration to the federal labor and other policies, according to the organizers.
“I am just grateful, especially yesterday, to stand in solidarity with millions of Americans who are just really determined, even though they are tired, to continue to fight,” Bouker said.
