Santa Monica man arrested for alleged bomb threats to Coachella Festival

A 40 -year -old man was in custody on Sunday for allegedly making threats of false bombs for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

The Cathedral City Police responded at 10:40 AM on Saturday to the reports of a suspicious man at the Casino Agua Caliente in the city of the Cathedral, department officials said.

Casino Security informed the police that a man who was driving a Tesla said he would be responsible for a bombing at the festival, police said. Police sought the details of the vehicle and identified the owner as Davis Darvish, a resident of Santa Monica.

Festival and Local Police staff were notified of the alleged threat and remained in surveillance of Darvise and his vehicle.

Around noon on Saturday, Palm Springs police officers located Darvise’s vehicle in his city and arrested him. When searching in their vehicle, no weapons, explosives or bomb -made materials were found, said the Cathedral City Police.

Darvish was hired at the John Benoit detention center in Indian and was arrested on bond #1 million at the Larry D Smith correctional center.
