Sam Bankman-Fried is moved out of New York City prison and half way across the country

Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraceful founder of the Cryptocurrency platform FTX, was transferred from a federal prison in New York and moved to a new detention center, about half a year after his 25-year sentence.

Bankman-Fried was moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on Thursday and sent to a transport facility in Oklahoma City, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

The FTX founder has been detained in Brooklyn’s prison since August 2023, but his lawyers requested that he be moved to a federal prison in California to be closer to his parents living near Stanford University.

It is unclear where Bankman is roasted after the transfer point in Oklahoma.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that Bankman-Fried was at the transfer point, but refused to say where he would be named next “for privacy, safety and safety reasons.”

Bankman-Fried’s transfer process, weeks after he ended up in seclusion after conducting a non-approved interview with conservative media personality Tucker Carlson. The decision is reportedly part of Bankman-Fried’s attempt to ensure a waiver by President Donald Trump.

The 33-year-old man was convicted in 2023 on seven counts of financing-related crimes and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment and ordered to pay $ 11 billion exactly a year ago.

Bankman-Fried appeals his conviction and believes that the judge who supervised the case was biased and that jurors were rushed to make a decision.

Judge Lewis Kaplan, who oversaw the Bankman-Fried case, also oversaw Trump’s defamation hearing against the writing of E. Jean Carroll-something that the FTX founder interviewed to appeal the president.

Bankman-Fried also criticized the regulatory approach of the Biden Administration to Cryptocurrency and praised Republicans for the embrace of Crypto.
