A Peruvian soccer game took an unexpected turn when a referee defended himself by kicking an individual who hastened to attack him during a match in the Peru Cup in the Ancash region.
The clash occurred in the coastal city of Casma, in Ancash, during a game between Sport Huaquilla and Magdalena Cedec in the Casma District League last weekend.
According to media accounts, referee Luis Alegre found himself under threat after expelling a Magdalena player when a man ran to him with a plastic bottle in his hand, with the aim of attacking him.
When the launch invader threw the bottle, Alegre raised his right leg and landed a kick from A Ras, landing in the upper and head.
The kick knocked down the launch invader, then security personnel intervened to avoid more confrontations.
The game was suspended after the incident.
