An earthquake caused light tremors near Levin.
The 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred at 12:59 pm on Friday, 20 km southwest of the city of Horowhenua at a depth of 35 km.
Thousands of people reported that they felt the tremor to Geonet mainly on the North and South Island.
