The forward of Preston North End, Milutin Osmajic, has been charged by the football association after an allegation of racist abuse.
The incident happened on February 15 during Preston’s championship collision with Burnley, where allegedly made a racist remark about midfielder Hannibal Miss Bri of Clarets.
The FA confirmed on Monday that Osmajic was charged with acting under the FA rule E3 in an improper way and had to respond until next Tuesday.
A statement on the FA website reads: “Milutin Osmajic was charged on Saturday, February 15 with the violation of the FA rule E3 during the championship between Preston and Burnley.
‘It is alleged that the forward acted in an improper way and/or used abusive and/or abusive words to an opposing player as opposed to FA rule E3.1.
‘It is further claimed to be an’ aggravated offense ‘defined in FA -Rule E3.2, as it includes a reference, whether explicitly or implied, in color and/or breed.
“Milutin Osmajic has until Tuesday 25 March to answer.”
A heated exchange between Mejbri and Osmajic led to the Burnley player talking to referee Andrew Kitchen and he kept playing until he was replaced in the 71st minute.
A statement on the Preston website acknowledged the FA charge, adding that Osmajic “strongly denied” the allegations.
“Preston acknowledges the charges that the FA brought against Milutin Osmajic after the championship last month against Burnley,” the statement says.
‘Milutin still denies the allegations of using abusive language with reference to color and/or race and will eventually give an official response to the FA charges.
“Until such a time in which the case was settled, the club will not comment further.”
