Rome and London – Pope Francis “rests” on Monday morning after spending his 10th night in the hospital, the Vatican press center reported.

“The night went well, the pope was sleeping and resting,” the office said in a short statement.

The 88-year-old Pontiff, who has run the Catholic Church since 2013, has undergone another round of clinical tests on Sunday morning, Vatican sources told ABC News. The officials said on Sunday that he remained in critical condition.

Francis has been hospitalized at the Hospital in Rome Gemeli since February 14 after a match with bronchitis. He was diagnosed with pneumonia on Tuesday, according to the Vatican.
