Northland police are investigating after a man was found dead in a parking lot in Kawakawa on Sunday morning.

Detective Rhys inspector Johnston said police were called to Station Road around 7:45 am, where they found the man’s body in a vehicle in a parking lot near Caltex service station.

“A scene examination of the area is underway, and the police are talking to a man from death, which is inexplicable at this stage,” he said.

A post-mortem is expected to be held on Monday.
