Police investigate early morning shooting in Melbourne CBD

Detectives are investigating a shooting at Melbourne’s CBD after a man with a shooting page requested the help of the police on Sunday morning.

The emergency services were called to Collins ST around 6.30 in the morning after the man approached the police and asked for help.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital with what the police described as a wound that not potentially deadly.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland police service said that the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still clear, and an investigation is underway.

After the incident, the street sections were cordoned off while the police patrolled the area and spoke with spectators.

Detectives are requesting public assistance and urges anyone who has witnessed the incident, or who can have images of Dashcam or CCTV of the area, to be presented.
