Cook, N.Y. (AP) – A twin-engine plane crashed Saturday in a muddy field in upstate New York.
Columbia County deputy Jacqueline Salvatore described the incident as a fatal crash, but she refused to say how many people died.
The FAA said the Mitsubishi MU-2B headed to Columbia County Airport near Hudson but crashed about 30 miles near the Popular Science season.
Salvato said mud, weather and snow made it difficult for first responders to get to the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Commission said it has deployed an investigation team that is expected to arrive in New York on Saturday night.
