Plane carrying three people crashes in South Florida near a major highway

A small plane that transported three people crashed Friday morning in southern Florida, near an important interstatal road and pushed a car to the railroad tracks, authorities said.

Boca Mouse police said several roads near Boca Mouse airport were closed near the 95 interstate after the plane fell shortly after 10 am (Midnight Aest), local media reported that the plane was on fire and firefighters responded.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the plane as a Cessna 310 with three people on board, although it was not immediately known if someone had died.

He dropped around 10.20 am (00.20 AES) after starting Boca Mouse airport to Tallahassee, the FAA said in an email.

Firefighters told the South Florida Sun Sentinel That the plane seemed to have pushed a car to the railroad tracks, which led to its closure. The destination of the car occupants was also unknown.

Josh Orsino, 31, said he was arrested in a red light in a nearby high step when he heard a strong explosion and saw a large ball of fire coming to him.

“We are only sitting there, and I see that the palm trees begin to fire,” Orsino said.

“I thought it was an oil platform or a type of car accident.”

Orsino said everyone was playing and trying to get out of the high step, I’m not sure if I was going to collapse.

“So I didn’t know if the fire was going to get to the vehicles, I mean, my first instinct was like, I could get out of this bridge. I’m coming out of here,” Orsino said.

Miguel Coka, 51, who works near Boca Mouse airport, said he is accustomed to seeing airplanes while preparing to land. But this time, he and his colleagues noticed that something was wrong.

“There was a rumble and everyone felt it in the building,” he said when the plane crashed.

He captured the smoke and flames of the accident of the balcony of his video office.

The mayor of Boca Mouse, Scott Singer, said the investigation was just beginning.

“We are sad to confirm that a plane crash occurred today within our community. At this time, the details are still emerging, and we are working closely with the responders and emergency authorities,” said Singer in a statement.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic event. We ask for patience and respect for the families involved as the investigations continue.”

FAA and the National Transportation Security Board are investigating, and the NTSB leads the probe.
