Urias did not defend one misdemeanor domestic battery charge last May. The policy is the second sentence after 20 games in 2019. Major League Baseball (MLB) said he will resume him from the restricted roster on July 17, and as a free agent, he can sign with any team.
Urias is a 28-year-old left-handed who has not pitched since September 1, 2023. Two days later, he was arrested outside the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, where he competed on September 3 in a Major League Soccer game involving Miami and Lionel Messi. The Public Safety Department said that regarding the physical dispute between men and women, his name was not publicly identified by the person who contacted others.
Initially, Urias sentenced felony charges to spouses or cohabitants and was tried on administrative leave by Major League Baseball (MLB) on September 6.

Urias did not have a misdemeanor for domestic battery when four other misdemeanor charges were dropped on May 1. Urias was placed on 36 months of simple probation and ordered to complete 30 days of community labor, said Ivor Pine, spokesman for the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office. Urias must also complete a 52-week domestic violence counseling course, pay for the domestic violence fund, possess no weapons, use no force or violence, compensate the victims and comply with the protection order.
“After reviewing all available evidence, I concluded that Mr. Urias violated our policy and that discipline is appropriate,” Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement Friday.

Major League Baseball said Urias agreed to the joint policy committee formed by Major League Baseball and the Association of Players and comply with any of its recommendations.
Urias’s agent Scott Boras said the pitcher did not make any statement.
Urias became a free agent after the 2023 World Series, when his $4.7 million year-on-year contract expired.
Urias was also arrested for suspected domestic batteries. Despite being suspended by Major League Baseball (MLB), he was not sued by a city attorney in Los Angeles for completing a 52-week domestic violence counseling program.
In eight major league seasons, the Dodgers have all been 60-25, while the ERA is 3.11. He led the National League with 2.16 ERA in 2022 and was a member of the team that won the 2020 World Series, saved 4-0 in six playoffs and scored the game with 1.17 ERA at a rate of 1.17 ERA.

Tampa Bay Shortstop Franco is still on the restricted list, not playing since August 12, 2023, but has not been disciplined by Major League Baseball (MLB).
